Walking Into the Office for the First Time

Today felt bigger than just another workday. It was January 1, 2025, and for the first time since joining Consectus Limited back on June 6, 2022, I finally stepped into the office premises.

When I joined, the world was still in the aftermath of COVID. Everything was remote, screens were our meeting rooms, and Slack threads replaced hallway conversations. Even though we built some genuinely cool stuff during those years, the truth is that you never truly meet your team until you see them outside a grid of Zoom windows.

A few months back, after things finally settled, the Indian government allowed offices to reopen in a hybrid model. And around Diwali, our leadership announced something we had all been quietly hoping for: a brand-new office in Thane, Maharashtra. You could feel the excitement across the team. A real place to sit together, argue over ideas, sketch solutions, share chai breaks, all of it.

And today, we got to live that moment.

Walking in, seeing everyone in person for the first time, felt surreal. Some faces I had seen a thousand times on camera looked almost new. There's something about real presence; the laughs land differently, the conversations flow easier, and ideas feel more alive when they bounce across a table instead of a call.

I still remember Vikrant walking in with a box of sweets. It was chaos for a second because everyone rushed for them, and I literally had to hide a couple just so I could snag one later. Small moments, but honestly, that's what makes a team feel like a team.

We spent the day talking, planning, catching up, and just enjoying the fact that we were finally in the same room. I clicked a few photos that I'm attaching here because this day deserves to be remembered. It wasn't just the opening of a physical office. It felt like the start of a new chapter; one where the team isn't just connected by internet cables but by real conversations, shared energy, and everyday moments.

Looking back, it was wholesome, fun, and long overdue. And I think all of us felt the same way walking out: this is going to be a good year.
